It seems that most negativity comes from people not familiar with the Catholic faith. I came from a Protestant upbringing and chose to reconcile to the Catholic Church. Since making that decision, I have experienced such love and acceptance. The woman who wrote and received no response from her local church should try calling and/or going over there. If that particular priest failed her, shame on him, but please don't judge all by one. My church is a part of the Diocese of Charlotte, NC, and I am very proud of the work we are doing. Father Kirk is a wonderful man whose love and compassion has helped to change my life. I am proud of being Catholic, because I know that the sins of a few do not corrupt all.
